After 18 months for volunteers, 2 years for non-commissioned officers and 7 years for officers, you can submit your application to the SF Gp, in other words when you no longer have the “candidate” status (more details through your S1).

We are looking for soldiers with excellent military skills who are able to apply them in the field.

Basic military skills must be mastered at the start of the Q-course. Entry tests will be carried out at the start of the course. The candidate will have to reach a certain level (70%) and will have to apply these TTPs in the field. This applies to all candidates from Land, Air, Medical and Naval component.

Some of these basic skills are: light infantry tactics, first aid and TCCC, Shooting, Personnel Recovery, search awareness, ….

After successfully completing the SOF Basic course (8 weeks), the Cdo A qualification (4 weeks) and the Para A qualification (3 weeks), candidates will take part in a selection week (1 week) to qualify for the 21-week Qualification Course.

This is followed by the Operator Course, which lasts around a year, to become a full member of the Operational Detachment. New operators receive advanced training, courses and tasks within the teams according to their speciality and this throughout their entire career within the SF Gp.
