Defence recruits and selects civilian candidates wishing to embark on a MILITARY career and more specifically to become an SF operator. Information is available in your regional information centres, on www.mil.be and on our usual media channels. (www.sfg.be /Facebook/Instagram).

This new route is called the “Fast Track”, and here’s what it involves;

Incorporation takes place in September 2024 and begins with a classic 10-week military initiation phase at Marche-les-Dames, followed by 16 weeks of specialised infantry paracommando training, plus 4 weeks to obtain the A Commando qualification, before moving on to the Schaffen parachute training centre to obtain the A Para qualification (jump from an A400M aircraft).

In August 2025, these freshly formed paratroopers will start the 8-week Basic SOF Course at Marche-les-Dames.

In November 2025, the candidates go to the Special Forces Group to take part in the selection week (GO/NO GO tests), followed by the five-month Qualification Course run by the Special Forces.
The graduates will join the SF Gp in May 2026.

We’re looking for candidates who are sporty, motivated, intelligent, creative, autonomous, eager to learn and ambitious, who have an extraordinary desire to succeed but also a sense of adventure, group spirit and the perseverance needed to develop continuously and take part in military operations where they can make a difference and have a positive impact.

If you want to join the Special Forces Group quickly, choose the September 2024 incorporation.
If you join earlier, you are welcome to apply for our selection tests after your candidature period, regardless of the component or unit you choose.

Please note that only the best will be selected to take part in Special Forces selection and training after successfully completing para-commando training.
For this year and those to come, only the SEPTEMBER incorporation will give access to the FAST-TRACK.
